What if you're late? As in late...
It was time for her to turn back; to return home. But the picturesque landmark was too captivating to leave behind. She couldn't just get enough of the view.
Coming to this place (which she named Eden) was almost routine for her, but each visit felt like the first time. The place always had something new to show her.
Joan got a free pass to Eden - anytime she wanted. The only condition was that she must go back home once its time.
The free pass was limited. It's just for some thousands of days. It looked uncountable, but it was limited. So because of its seemingly many free access days, nobody cared to look into its depreciating nature. Each visit to Eden reduces the access days. This was obvious but nobody cared and thus, often than not, most are caught unawares.
Jane's pass had expired but she didn't know. Though she was fond of returning home late, the cost for this was a day's pass. But she didn't know that all those thousand passes had been used up. When she got to the gate, lo it was locked and cannot be opened. She was trapped in Eden - for eternity.
Nice story, isn't it? But It's chilling.
Ever wondered why we call a dead person Late...? Now relate this with the story of Joan. Each time she slept, she visited Eden. But one day, she could not return. She had used up all her free access days - time. She arrived late at the gate and could not return and thus she is called LATE by those at the other side of Eden.
This will be the story of everyone. It's not a bad thing, because this is how we are wired. The only bad thing is if you get trapped at the other side with regrets.
What is stopping you? Do what you have to, get everything done over here, so that when it's time, you won't look back with regrets - of omissions and submissions.
