The Future: An Uncertain Probable

Tomorrow is something - a place - we always look forward to. Many people spend their time - all of it - planning their tomorrow; which is also known as the future. Although you busy yourself with planning and worrying for a future that you desire to have or destroy, the fact still remains that this future (you so pine for), is only a dream, a mist that we treat as probable, but also very uncertain.

A seer once asked a client, "Why do you want to know the future?" And the young man answered, "I want to know, so that I can be prepared for it."

The seer did not peer into her crystal ball as expected, but she sat back and said, "But the future will no longer be that if you already know what it is. The future is only known to God. To live a better life, do not pursue the future, rather live today to its fullest."

Let your past be the lesson to live your present - today. The truth is that you will never have answers to all life's questions. So why do you bother yourself with them? Why struggle for the uncertain when you have the certain - today?

The seer continued her sermon to the now embarrassed client, "I do not predict the future. I analyse the past and the present and use the facts gathered to guess at the future."

Whatever your today is is the result of the choices of your yesterday. So, to guess at the future, be mindful of what you do now. Today. Your present.
