CHOOSE THE BEST SMARTPHONE BY KNOWING YOUR DIGITAL BEHAVIOUR

Since the millennium, smart gadgets – especially phones - have become very valuable. This is not only for keeping up, but of course for making endless business transactions and minimizing the cost of logistics. Over the years, many phone brands have emerged and this get  a buyer confused at the availability of so many varieties. Going past the designs and the glossy outward appearance – which has become indeed very competing – let’s look at quick tips for choosing the right Smartphone for your budget and needs.
During a market research, a multi-dimensional profiling of people has been done based on their digital behavior and they were placed in 7 categories. They are;
1.      Traditionalist: These exhibit limited digital behavior. They are only interested in making and receiving calls; and also occasionally sending and receiving text messages in form of SMS. This category of people does not necessarily need a Smartphone – any phone that has the basic feature would do. The average age for the traditionalist is 48years.
2.      Digital Media Junkies: These are the early adopters of the digital media. They are mostly millenials and rely on their Smartphone for almost everything. This has been incorporated well into their lives – and it seems a nightmare (and unthinkable) to live a day without their most prized property. This set usually goes for Smartphone that have more than the basic features. The average age for this set is 28 years.
3.      On The Go Workers: These, compared to the digital media junkies are the late adopters of digital media. The average age is 41 years.
4.      Professionals: This set buy and use most digital devices. Their usage is based on the key benefit sought – technologies that enhance their ability to communicate and better manage their lives.
5.      Gamers: Of course as the title implies, these focus on gaming.
6.      Digital Communicators: These are more focused on social networking, texting and email. They have integrated media into many areas of their lives.
7.      Video Digerati: This set has high video usage.
You can get a good mobile phone that suits your personality by analysing your digital behaviour. Traditional users don’t necessarily need a phone that has many functions – the basic would do. But because of their limited knowledge, it would be best they go for durable phones that would not give them much of a headache.
If you are a Digital Media Junkie or On the Go Worker, you will be more concerned about the Processor, Camera Quality, Storage and of course, the Battery life. It is advisable that you do not purchase a phone that has less than 3000mAh and also don’t go for storage less than 32GB. When choosing camera quality, forget what’s written at the back, pay more attention to the aperture (the lower the better) and the lenses – such as dual lens, flash.
If you belong to the category of Professionals, you will usually go for phones that have specific features that suit you. You might want to choose between the operating systems of either iOS or Android. If you want something that's easy to use and gets both the hottest apps first and timeliest software updates, go for iOS - Apple. Android is better if you want more hardware choice and more affordable options.
If you belong to the Digital Communicator world, your focus would be same with the Digital Media Junkie but you will be more drawn to the battery life and storage. You will need a phone that can install as many Apps as possible.
Gamers and Video Digerati focus more on the Display, Processor and Battery Life. They want a large screen and a speedy phone with a forever battery life. For people in this category, they go for displays above 5.5. But you must check out for colour quality, and brightness. Pay more attention to how bright the display is, so it will be easy to see outdoors, and how colourful the panel is (AMOLED is better than LCD in this regard). The very latest phones offer high dynamic range (HDR) for displaying even more colours.
